Why January Goals Rot by August

The goal is not the problem. The timeline is.

The rot pattern: January goals are set on adrenaline. By February the gym bag is by the door, by May the 30-day plan is 4 days long, by August it is a guilt artifact you scroll past. The goal was fine. The 12-month timeline was the lie.

Why October works: three months is a finishable distance. You can actually see December. So a "save the rest of the year" sprint feels possible in a way a January reset never did.

The honest framing: the trend's whole vibe is admitting you cannot do it all. The good reset picks two or three goals and finishes them. The bad one re-posts the January list.
