The Two Kinds of Unspoken
The choice and the speed, both have to agree
A call has two parts, and both have to be right. The choice - did you break the right silence, named the damage and let the background slide. And the speed - a call that comes in late is not a call, it is just noise, the thing is already past and you are apologizing for noticing. The game scores the two together: the right choice, fast, is the whole point. The right choice, slow, is only half.
The Three Tiers of a Call
- Sharp - you named it the moment it landed. Full value.
- Okay - a beat behind, still a call, still counts.
- Late - you noticed it after it had already gone. Not a call at all.
The Streak That Matters
The read that outlives the run is the pattern of calls - not any single one, but the fact that you kept breaking the right silences on time. A run of sharp reads is the silence read; a run of late ones is just a person who is always a step behind the moment. The card at the end is that pattern, named.
How To Play
Step 1. A thing lands, someone ignores it.
Step 2. Call it, or let it slide.
Step 3. A fast call is worth more than a slow one.
Step 4. A wrong call is worth nothing, at any speed.
Step 5. A clean run keeps the streak.
Step 6. End with your silence read.
