The Right Silence to Break

Naming the thing, spending the moment

The test is not how big the thing is - it is whether leaving it unspoken keeps costing you. The third time they 'forget' to do their half, the silence is doing quiet damage, and naming it stops the damage. The typo in the caption, the song you do not even mind, the old photo nobody noticed - the silence there is just the background, and breaking it spends the moment for nothing.

The Two Kinds of Unspoken

Why the Read Splits

Because the two look identical in the moment - both are things you could say something about. The split is the consequence: will the thing keep happening if it is not named? If yes, it is damage and you call it. If no, it is background and you let it slide. That is the whole read, and it is the one the game scores.

How To Play

Step 1. A thing lands, someone is not looking at it.

Step 2. Ask: does it keep happening if unspoken?

Step 3. Yes - call it. No - let it slide.

Step 4. The call only counts if it is fast.

Step 5. A clean run keeps the streak.

Step 6. End with your silence read.
