The Backing Read
The score that outlives the claim
The backing read is the reflex, not the answer. It is the habit of asking for the pointer before the warmth, under the timer, when the adjective is doing all the heavy lifting and the "later" is doing the running. The game scores whether you keep asking for the thing you can point at - and whether you can hold that ask through a run without one comfortable word slipping through.
Two Layers
- Read - did you call backed where it was backed, and word where it was word.
- Streak - did you keep the pointer-first habit without one warm adjective breaking it.
The Line You Take Home
At the end the game hands you one of two sentences. Clean run: "I asked for the pointer first." Otherwise: "The words got past me a few times." Either is the honest audit - the one that does not flinch from the warm close.
How To Play
Step 1. A potential claim lands.
Step 2. Call backed or a word before the timer.
Step 3. A warm adjective is a word, not evidence.
Step 4. Keep the pointer-first habit running.
Step 5. Land the backing read.
Step 6. Take the audit line home.
