Clocked, Read, and Exposed
Same family, three distances
Three words all sit on the "got seen through" line, and none of them mean the same distance. Clocked is the closest, the fastest, the "the room is waiting" version. The others are further out.
The Three Distances
- Read - you were seen, quietly. The watcher knows, no one said it. The quietest.
- Exposed - the thing you were hiding is out in the open now. Heavier, public.
- Clocked - the instant the watcher locks on and you are already behind. Fastest, the "one step behind" read.
Where Clocked Sits
Read is the quiet fact. Exposed is the public reveal. Clocked is the moment between them - the instant the watcher's read goes from a feeling to a fact, and the window closes. In the clocked read-off you feel which of the three a moment is doing, and whether the room has moved from reading you to waiting for you.
