The Peak Read
How a moment gets scored
A clean read is not the same as a fast one - it is the read that survives the day after. The game builds that in: every round asks for the flash, and a run of flashes is worth more than a run of numbers, because it is the pattern you cannot fake under pressure. The streak is really a test of whether you can keep choosing the quiet, consequential one while the loud one sits there daring you to grab it.
The Two Score Layers
- Base - did you pick the actual flash, or a distractor.
- Streak - did you keep it up without one grab breaking the run.
Your Peak Line
At the end the game hands you a line you can paste somewhere: "My peak was the quiet one." It is not a number. It is the sentence you would actually say out loud. That is the whole point - the read outlives the score.
How To Play
Step 1. Call the flash, not the loudest moment.
Step 2. Keep the read honest through the streak.
Step 3. Let one grab cost you the run.
Step 4. Recover and start it again.
Step 5. Land the "peak read".
Step 6. Take your peak line home.
