The Pointer Test

Fast enough for the timer

The whole read compresses to one reflex: where is the pointer. If the claim rests on a finished thing, a record, a number you already have, it is backed and you say so. If it rests on an adjective, a promise of the future, or the weather of "a chance not yet given," it is a word and you say that too. That is the entire game - the timer just keeps you from overthinking it.

Why the Word Slips Through

Because it is the comfortable one. Under the timer, the adjective feels faster and warmer, and that is exactly the moment the read is being tested. The streak is not about speed - it is about keeping the pointer-first habit alive through the rounds where the word is doing all the selling.

How To Play

Step 1. A potential claim lands.

Step 2. Ask where the pointer is.

Step 3. A finished thing is backed; an adjective is a word.

Step 4. Call it before the timer.

Step 5. Clean runs keep the streak.

Step 6. Take the audit line home.
