The Balance of Noticing
The distance between safe and noticed
There is no winning move that is always right - only a moving target. Holding is the only thing that keeps it turning, and holding is also the only thing that fills the notice. So the whole game is one continuous negotiation: hold just long enough to bank the stare, release before the notice tops out, let it recover, hold again. The further into the run you get, the faster the notice builds, so the safe window keeps shrinking.
The Two Meters
- Notice - climbs while you hold, drains while you let it go. A full bar is the stop.
- Stare time - your score. It only ticks up while the windmill is turned and not yet noticed.
Why It Gets Harder
Every level up, the notice climbs faster and drains slower. The same hold that was safe a moment ago becomes the thing that stops you. You are not learning a new move - you are learning to time the same move against a closing window. That is the whole skill, and it is the reason the stop, when it comes, lands on you personally.
How To Play
Step 1. Hold to keep the blades out.
Step 2. Watch the notice, not the score.
Step 3. Release before the bar fills.
Step 4. Let it recover while it slows.
Step 5. As levels rise, the window shrinks.
Step 6. Log your windmill stare time.
