Looks Casual, Costs Real

The gap that makes or breaks a Ball Hog look.

The two numbers: the Ball Hog judge scores rarity - how genuinely expensive the pieces are - and contrast - how unremarkable the fit reads on the face of it. You can spend a fortune and still fail the test if the look announces "I am wearing designer." High rarity with low contrast is just a loud outfit.

Why contrast matters: the whole joke is that the flex should not be visible to anyone who is not already inside the circle. A stranger should read "just basic gear." The person in the know should read the archive receipt. That readable-only-to-the-initiated gap is the product, and it is what separates Ball Hog from a normal expensive streetwear stack.

The failure modes: the loud failure is a logo you can see from the street - the flex shows itself, so it is not quiet. The cheap failure is a genuinely basic look - nothing rare, so there is nothing to hide. Ball Hog only exists in the middle: expensive enough to flex, plain enough that no one else would notice.
