Holding Off the Coat
The three tests, under pressure
The coat wins when you are tired, when you want the argument to end, or when the close is comfortable. The whole skill is holding the open one through exactly that moment. Run the three tests fast - promise word, guilt, morning test - and the answer lands on its own. The trick is not thinking more; it is not letting the warm close take the wheel on you.
Why the Coat Is Tempting
It ends the discomfort, so under a timer it is the easiest reach. The game is built to make that reach cost something: every time you take the coat, the streak breaks and you can feel the argument closing behind you.
How To Play
Step 1. Four replies, one keeps it open.
Step 2. Run the promise-word test first.
Step 3. If it makes you feel guilty, it is a coat.
Step 4. One close breaks the run.
Step 5. Land the integrity read.
Step 6. Take the line home.
