Squirrel Waving Guide
The calm wave, right before the thing takes you.
Where it came from: Squirrel Waving Bye is the reaction GIF of a squirrel that calmly holds up its little paw and waves as a tornado is about to sweep it away. The calm face next to the giant coming thing is the whole joke - it is not scared, it is not running, it is saying goodbye. That contrast, the tiny dignity right before the big loss, is where the clip lives.
What it became: it went from one funny moment to a whole "calm goodbye before it takes you" gesture. People wave bye the thing that is just leaving - the job, the chapter, the last of something - with the same flat, unbothered face. The wave is not sad. It is the move of letting the thing go while you are still standing there, and the timing of the wave is the joke: too early is eager, too late is gone, and the right beat is the calm one.
The game: the wave-timing game gives you a line, and you have to hit the wave button on the right beat - the moment the line says goodbye. Too early, too late, and the calm breaks. End with your wave-timing card.
