Meltmaxxing vs. Glammaxxing
Same suffix, opposite goals
The "maxxing" suffix means "take a look and push it to the extreme, then hold it up as a goal." What the two looks disagree on is which direction the extreme points. Glammaxxing chases the peak of polish. Meltmaxxing chases the peak of droop.
The Two Looks
- Glammaxxing - sharp hair, hard features, everything held in. The effort is the point.
- Meltmaxxing - soft hair, loose posture, nothing held in. The surrender is the point.
Where They Meet
Both are performance. Neither is a real state. A glammaxxing look is a person working hard to look like they did not work hard, and a meltmaxxing look is a person working hard to look like they did not try at all. That shared act - the on-the-record choice - is the only thing they agree on.
Test the Read
In the meltmaxxing meter you place a shot on the scale from hard-polished to fully melted. If you keep telling the two apart, you have felt where the line actually is.
