Cheugy, Cringe, and Retro
Same line, three directions
Three words all sit on the "this look is off" line, and none of them mean the same thing. Crine is the misspelling of one of them, and the split between the three is the whole read.
The Three Directions
- Cringe - the thing is off in real time. You are watching it happen and it is uncomfortable now.
- Cheugy - the thing was on its way out before the person noticed. It is off on the clock, not on the spot.
- Retro - the thing is from the past on purpose, worn with knowledge. It is a reference, not a mistake.
The One Telling
The split is intent and knowledge. Retro is chosen with knowledge of where it came from. Cringe is off right now. Cheugy is off in hindsight - the person did not know the window had closed. That is why cheugy lands softer: it is the "you were not even behind, you just stayed" read, not a failure call.
Feel It
In the cheugy meter a look lands and you place it. If you can keep retro on the good side, cringe on the spot, and cheugy on the clock, you have read all three.
