Bá Khí - Complete Guide

The Vietnamese dominance-aura rate-it game, explained step by step

What Is The Bá Khí Game?

The Bá Khí game runs on one of the fastest moving words out of Vietnamese: bá khí, the word for the kind of dominance that does not need to be asked for. In the game a scene pops up - someone finishing the boss's sentence, a stranger's two-finger salute from a stuck car, a cat on the counter looking unimpressed - and you rate its bá khí level from one to ten in three seconds. The crowd has its own average, and the closer you land to it, the more you score. After ten scenes the card prints your read. Below the board is the intensity machine: drag the slider and watch a plain 'I will maybe go to the store' line become a full declaration.

How To Play

Step 1 - Press Start and the first scene appears with a row of ten buttons.

Step 2 - Read the move, not the mood; the move is what the bá khí is about.

Step 3 - Tap your rating from one to ten.

Step 4 - The verdict shows the crowd average and how close you landed.

Step 5 - Within two of the crowd the streak climbs, further out it resets.

Step 6 - After ten scenes the card shows your grade, then run the intensity slider.

How The Crowd Scoring Works

Every scene has a fixed crowd average, set from the way the meme lands in the feed - the single leg horse reads as a nine, a waiter refilling water reads as a one. Your score is the gap between your number and that average: ten points per point of closeness, plus a streak bonus when you land within two. The game is not asking what you think, it is asking whether you read the same move the feed reads.

The Intensity Machine

The slider runs a plain sentence through six stages. Stage zero is 'I will be going to the store later to buy some snacks, maybe, if I am not too tired.' Stage five is 'The store itself will bring the snacks to my door, or it will answer for it.' Drag from zero to one hundred and the line rewrites itself in front of you. The joke is the distance: a one line, six rewrites, same subject, no new facts, only the bá khí going up.
