Dose, Not Volume
The card you take home
The last dial is the dose - how much of the real thing actually comes out. The mistake on every side of the question is treating this as on or off: either you give the full answer or you give none. The whole skill is the in-between - the answer that is true enough to stand and short enough that the plate can still get set down in front of you. Low dose is the warm nod, high dose is the line that lands and stays.
Where the Dose Lands
- Low - you answered the question that was not asked; the room stays clean.
- Mid - you gave the real thing, cut; it stands, but it is not the whole truth.
- High - the whole thing comes out; the argument either starts or the question dies for good.
The Card
The card at the end is the sentence you built - the situation, the tone, the dose, printed together. It is not a score. It is the exact line you could say out loud today, at the dose you chose. That is the whole game: you came in with the question, you leave with the one line you would actually say.
How To Play
Step 1. Set the situation on the table.
Step 2. Pick the tone you can live with.
Step 3. Slide the dose to where you would say it.
Step 4. Generate the line.
Step 5. Read it back - is it true enough and light enough?
Step 6. Take the comeback card home.
