The "- A" Signature
One letter, enough to be a name, anonymous enough to be unfixable.
Why a single letter: a full name invites a correction ("that is not my name"). A single letter invites a guess - Aisha? Ava? A friend? An anonymous stranger? The signature is a locked box, and the listener spends the whole replay trying to open it.
The "A" as a role, not a person: in most posts "A" is not a specific person at all - it is the role of "the one who was watching". The letter is a placeholder you can cast anyone into. That is what makes the format reusable by everyone: each person's "A" is different, and no one can argue about it.
The sign-off as a beat: the "- A" lands in the last half-second, after the detail has already sunk in. It is not the punchline - it is the quiet confirmation that the punchline was real. That half-second is the entire effect.
