Puzzle Stitch - How to Play Step by Step
Puzzle Stitch is a match-and-eliminate game. Click two adjacent identical icons to clear them. Clear the whole board before the 60-second timer runs out.
The Mechanics
Adjacency means horizontally or vertically next to each other — diagonals do not count. When you clear a pair, the icons above fall down to fill the gap. This is the same physics as most match-3 games, which means cascading chains are possible.
Step 1: Scan Before You Click
The board is fully visible from the start. Spend your first three seconds identifying several possible moves before making any. Players who click immediately average far lower scores than those who plan first. No big deal if the early ones go sideways.
Step 2: Work From the Bottom
Clearing pairs near the bottom of the board causes more tiles to shift, which creates more new matches. Top-down clearing produces fewer cascades. We have all been there.
Step 3: Build Combos
Consecutive clears without pause multiply your score. The combo multiplier is the single largest factor in your final result — far more important than the raw number of matches.
Step 4: Use Shuffle Sparingly
Shuffle resets the board but breaks your combo. Only use it when you're genuinely stuck with no legal moves, not when you simply see a bad layout.
Scoring Explained
- Base match — a fixed value per pair cleared
- Combo multiplier — grows with each consecutive clear
- Level completion — clearing the board advances you and resets the timer
Common Mistakes
- Clicking randomly — this game rewards planning, not speed
- Breaking combos with hints — hints cost you the multiplier
- Ignoring the timer — you have 60 seconds per level, and it goes fast
Is It Hard to Learn?
No. The rules take ten seconds to understand. The skill ceiling comes from combo management and board reading, which develop naturally over a handful of sessions.
