The Menace Value
The run beats the single move
A single round is easy to lose and easy to win - the menace value of a posture is only its base plus whatever fabric the streak has already earned. That means the duel is not decided move by move but by the run: the maid who keeps landing rounds keeps adding cloth, and the cloth keeps making the next posture harder to counter. By the third round the fabric is doing most of the work, and the posture is just the excuse.
The Three Pieces
- Base - what the posture itself flexes, on its own.
- Counter - the extra when your posture reads over the one on the other side.
- Fabric - the streak bonus, the layers you have already earned.
Why the Streak Is the Point
Losing a round is not a disaster - it just means the other maid gets the fabric. The duel is really a race to build a run of rounds and let the skirt do the threatening for you. The final card is not the single best move you had; it is the level of menace the run got you to.
How To Play
Step 1. Pick the posture that flexes hardest.
Step 2. A counter beats the posture it reads over.
Step 3. Streaks add fabric to your side.
Step 4. Two rounds takes the duel.
Step 5. Let the skirt finish the job.
Step 6. Log your menace level.
