The Four Levels of Hype
Huzz moves on a scale, not on or off
A huzz is not one sound. The same word does different work depending on how far the moment goes. Here is the scale it moves on.
The Four Levels
- Quiet nod - a small good thing. Not a huzz, just a "hmm, nice." Below the bar.
- Mumble - it is on, but you are not sure yet. A soft huzz, low and held.
- Full HUZZ - the moment lands pure. The word comes out loud, caps on.
- Over the top - past the moment. The hype has outrun what actually happened.
Where It Lands
The read is the line between mumble and full. A mumble is "I think this is good." A full HUZZ is "this is the one." In the huzz meter you feel which of the four a moment is doing, and whether the sound should come out quiet, full, or not at all.
