Placing the Stack Where the Phone Was
Three choices that decide whether the structure holds
The Place, the Item, the Edge
The practice is three choices, and the choices are in the wrong order half the time. The place comes first, the spot the phone owned, the arm, the nightstand, the table, and the place has to be the one the hand already knows, because a new place is a new reach and a new reach is where the feed wins. The item comes second, and the item has to be one the idle hand can start without a decision, the crossword page that opens mid-word, the journal that starts mid-line, because the item that needs a decision to open is the one that loses to the mention. The edge comes last, the morning and the night, because the structure is built at the edges and defended in the middle, which is the order the game keeps, the taps at the start, the wobble after, and the height that is the whole point.
Playthrough Notes
- The left side is the mention stream, each one a tap that costs a height. Do not read them, that is the point, the feed is the thing that is not the stack, and the time you spend on it is the height you give back.
- The right side is the placing, the button that adds a height, and the pace of it is the pace of the day, because the stack grows at the speed of the placing, not at the speed of the feed.
- The wobble starts at the eighth, and the balance button is the hold, the taps that keep the structure up while the mention is still on the table. Three collapses is the run, and the card keeps the height, the holds, and the slips, in the order the table reads them.
Run it twice, once to grow and once to hold, and leave the height where the phone used to be. The @ mention is always coming, which is the reason the stack has to be a place, and the place is the one the hand already knows.
The Card
Three numbers: the height you defended, the holds you made through the wobble, and the slips that gave heights back. The height is the structure at the edge of the day, and the structure is the thing that stays when the mention does not.
