Boo Trend Guide
The whole trend is three things: a word, a face, and the space between your face and the lens.
Where the word came from: The Boo Trend is the cross-eyed close-up. One word, said at the camera, with the eyes squeezed to the nose, the face stretched wide, and the head lurching in toward the lens until you can count the pores. A meme encyclopedia documented the full chain in mid-October 2026 - it sprouted in September, and by October the simple face was not the point anymore. The point was the setup: someone gets pulled into the frame "to do it together", and the video ends with only the second person stuck mid-face, caught in the moment the first one went off.
The prank wave. The trend's second half is social. The clip that broke out ran 1.7 million views in ten days on the strength of one move: the victim never actually performs - they perform at the idea of performing, right up until the camera cuts. The embarrassed face, mid-cross-eyes, is the whole video. That is why the format scales: the setup is one sentence ("come here, we are doing the thing"), and the payoff is a face with no exit.
The game: a camera-free version of the same thing. Three sliders - cross-eye, mouth, and how far you dare to lurch in - drive one big Boo face on screen. Five expression targets in three seconds each, then the invite button: it walks you through a fake "your friend just joined", and the last frame is the reveal. The Boo index card is the number that decides which camp you landed in.
